Veteran racer Michael Rutter will contest his 400th MCE British Superbike race at Oulton Park this weekend.
The Midlander, who started racing back in 1989, will commemorate the milestone with a new lid design commissioned by his long-time backers Blackhorse and there will also be one to win in a competition on raceday.
“It’s hard to believe really, I used to look at the older riders when I was younger and think,‘Why don’t they retire?'. Now I’m one of them and I have no plans to give up yet! I love BSB and I’ve got so close to winning the championship a few of times but for one reason or another it’s never quite happened," said Rutter.
"It’s because of the likes of Blackhorse, Bathams, E:Aide, Global Freight, Monster, Datatag, Petronas, Feridax, JRB Logistics, Townhouse Creative... and all my other sponsors that this can still happen and for that I’m truly grateful."
