Ryan Vickers heads to the opening round of the 2024 Bennetts British Superbike Championship raring to go for the new season in Navarra, twelve months on from enduring an injury-hampered start to the year.
The Norfolk rider enters into his second season with the OMG GRILLA Yamaha Racing team on the back of a breakthrough 2023 BSB campaign that yielded his first wins in the series, at Brands Hatch and Donington Park.
Even so, after a pre-season injury - sustained in a crash at Navarra - stymied his progress during the opening rounds, Vickers arrives in upbeat spirits and ready to hit the ground running from Round 1.
“We made some good steps with the bike at Donington Park so I’m looking forward to continuing the work in Navarra before round one,” Vickers, who ended the test third fastest, said..
“I really enjoyed the track when we tested there last year, and my weakest corner has been changed which should suit me better.
“Hopefully the weather is on our side, even though wet weather suits me too. The team have a few ideas which will hopefully improve our R1 further and be in the mix come round one.”
Before the curtain raiser gets underway, Vickers will be on track for three days of official pre-season testing at Navarra, beginning today [Tuesday].
