Silverstone BSB: Back row start for Ellison after qualifying crash

JG Speedfit Kawasaki's James Ellison will start the first MCE British Superbike race of 2016 from the very back of the grid, after a crash during the opening qualifying session at Silverstone.

He fell, unhurt at Farm and was unable to continue in Q3 and will begin his title campaign from 30th on the grid on Sunday. The ex MotoGP man is feeling disappointed, but will try and fight his way through the pack, with the hope of getting a fast lap time to start further up the starting order in race two.

Ellison relishes a challenge and will 'work his arse off' so that he can get inside the points, during the opening race at the Northamptonshire circuit. But the ZX-10R rider is not under estimating the difficult task ahead, after he crashed on intermediate tyres.

"It is a little bit frustrating, I went out on intermediates and I then knew there were spots of rain out on track, and I was on my way to change my tyres to get some slicks and I crashed at Farm," said Ellison at the track.

"I am obviously disappointed and it is not the start of the season I wanted, but I will work my arse off. It is always going to be difficult going from the back of the grid - but disappointed to crash but it was my fault. We had a good plan set, but we always put up a fight and I will try my best."
