Airwaves Ducati's Shane Byrne will be on full attack to take the 2008 British Superbike title this weekend at Silverstone after a disappointing outing at Croft.
Byrne, who heads into the meeting with a 94-point lead, wants to get the job done in race one of the double header and add to the championship he first won in 2003.
“I’m a bit disappointed not to have won the title in the previous round at Croft, but now I’m fully refreshed and heading to Silverstone where I have a very good chance of taking it, and that is what I and the rest of the Airwaves Ducati team have been working for," said Byrne.
"I like to be on maximum attack, riding on the limit, but I have to ensure that I don’t fall down and that I take the championship – it will be good to get the job done in the first race at Silverstone."
Team-mate Leon Camier will also want to add to his tally of two wins but will have to ride shotgun for Byrne as he did in the second race at Croft. “Although I was disappointed not to have got on to the podium in the second race, winning race one at Croft was a huge confidence boost so I’m really looking forward to Silverstone and hopefully getting back on the top step of the podium," said the Kent youngster.
