James Ellison 1'25.488

Airwaves Yamaha's Leon Camier has taken yet another British Superbike pole position at Silverstone this afternoon but team-mate James Ellison ran him very close in the final minute, crossing the line just a tenth in arrears.

HM Plant Honda's Josh Brookes put in a flying final circuit with three minutes go, taking third on the grid ahead of Hydrex Honda's Stuart Easton and he rounds out the front row.

Easton's team-mate Tommy Hill heads the second row, a little under a second off the pace while Buildbase Kawasaki's John Laverty relegated the MSS Colchester Kawasaki of Simon Andrews to seventh, just ahead of Sylvain Guintoli.

Andrews' team-mate Julien Da Costa finished in eighth after being as high as third while Relentless Suzuki's Ian Lowry, who is still not a well teddy, completes the top 10.

A lap with three minutes of the session to go saw Easton demote Camier from the top of the pile while an even later lap from Brookes saw Ellison pushed down to fourth.

Both the of Motorpoint Yamahas went out, with Chris Walker crashing at Abbey on the final lap while the injured Glen Richards, on the HM Plant Honda, was nudged down the order in the final minutes. Quay Garage Honda's Gary Mason finished an uncharacteristic 18th while Alastair Seeley, on the Evo Superbike, also went out. NB Suzuki's Tommy Bridewell lost a gear and rode with five for the whole session

Camier set his fastest lap with ten minutes of the session remaining with  Brookes and Hill in close proximity. Andrews also started the session slowly before climbing up to fourth place with his last lap.
