Silverstone BSB: Danilo takes victory in Motostar debut

Cygnet Racing's Jules Danilo stormed to Monster Energy Motostar victory in his debut outing this afternoon at Silverstone. The talented Frenchman got the better of Joe Irving in the closing laps to take the win.

RS Racing's Joe Irving and the Marc VDS Racing backed Danilo fought it out in the final laps of the race after breaking clear of the rest of the field at half race distance. The Frenchman, with Grand Prix experience, left it until the last lap to dive past Holmfirth's Irving to take the win.

RS Racing's Andy Reid came across the line in third place but claimed his third 125cc victory of the year. Tarran Mackenzie had to settle for fourth place overall after Reid got past him on the last lap, but the young Red Bull Rookie competitor claimed third in the Moto3 championship. South African Jordan Weaving got the better of Ed Rendell to take fifth place after a race long dice.

Team WD40's Joe Francis crossed the line in seventh place, the first time all year he has been off the podium in the Moto3 category, but it was enough for him to secure the British Moto3 Championship.

Francis was followed home by another champion, SP125's Tom Carne secured the British 125cc Championship with a third place in the category. The top ten was rounded out by Peter Sutherland and Taz Taylor.
