Moto-Breakers’ Jake Dixon took his third Metzeler National Superstock 600 victory of the year, getting the better of the new Championship leader Lee Jackson on the last lap, with Ben Burke crashing out.
Second Moto-Breaker rider James Rose took the holeshot but didn’t hold onto the lead for long with Jackson storming through at Village. The duo were then joined by Dixon and Alex Olsen as mayhem ensued.
As news came through to the leaders that Ben Burke, the Championship leader by 18 points, had crashed out of the race, the leading four began to swap places corner after corner. Dixon, Jackson, Rose and Olsen all held the lead at one point but it was Jackson who was able to break away from the chasing pack.
He put over a second into the trio behind him by positing the fastest lap of the race but Dixon was having none of it. He moved past his team-mate Rose and then posted lap after lap quicker than Jackson to chase him down and consequently pass him with three laps remaining.
As they came on to the last lap Jackson tried his best to move past Dixon, but his defensive line held strong and the Moto-Breaker Yamaha brought him across the line 0.004 of a second ahead of Chris Walker Race School’s Jackson. Olsen got the better of Rose on the last lap to take third, which means leaving Silverstone with one round remaining, Jackson and Burke are level on points in the Championship with Rose just five behind.
Vancraft Triumph’s Joe Collier took fifth ahead of Josh Wainwright, who battled through to sixth place after starting from pitlane. Kyle Wilks managed to beat James Lodge and Bjorn Estment to seventh with Mark Wilkinson rounding out the top ten.
