Airwaves Yamaha's James Ellison reckons his British Superbike free practice performance at Silverstone yesterday was the best he has done all season, heading the timesheets in the morning and claiming second in the afternoon.
The Kendal man posted a 1'26.381 in first pratice, with team-mate Camier in second, but the positions were swapped in the afternoon, with Camier dropping to 1'25.781 and Ellison on a 1'26.291.
"It's been a good start to the weekend; probably the best I've had all season! I was struggling over the bumps in the morning so we made a couple of changes to the Airwaves Yamaha in the afternoon," said Ellison.
"Although we went quicker, it actually made things worse so we reverted back to some of the previous settings. I'm losing time to Leon during the first section, so I'll be concentrating on that tomorrow. But the good news is we've got a few tenths over Stuart Easton."
