Gearlink Kawasaki's Alastair Seeley took an incredible Motorpoint British Supersport victory, diving past Jason O'Halloran on the last lap to cut the championship advantage of Stuart Easton down to nine points after the Scotsman crashed out on the first lap.
Mar-Train Yamaha's Easton tucked the front at Farm corner on the first lap whilst challenging for the lead, opening up the championship for Northern Irishman Seeley. Profile Triumph's Luke Mossey held the lead during the early laps, followed on track by Smiths Triumph's Billy McConnell and Samsung Honda's Jason O'Hallroan.
McConnell took the lead on lap four but only for it to be taken away from him a lap later by O'Halloran. Meanwhile, Seeley was beginning to chase down the front three and then begin to fight his way through. Seeley battled his way bast Mossey and McConnell as he set his sights on O'Halloran, who was half a second ahead.
The wee Wizard of Carrickfergus posted three consecutive lap records whist chasing down O'Halloran and his ever increasing pace payed dividends as he took the lead on the last lap. Seeley looked to have it secured before running wide at the Loop and allowing O'Halloran back through. As they came on the Wellington Straight, it was O'Halloran this time that ran wide with Seeley bursting through to take the lead back.
As the pair came into Luffield, O'Halloran looked to dive under Seeley but got it wrong, running wide and leaving a gap for McConnell who took it. O'Halloran tried to close the door on McConnell but the pair collided and O'Halloran tumbled, handing third place to Luke Mossey.
Seeley came across the line to take his seventh win of the year and cut Easton's championship lead down from 34 points to just nine, with three races remaining.
Smiths Triumph's Glen Richards took a lonely fourth place, with Gearlink Kawasaki's Ben Wilson winning the battle for fifth place ahead of Richard Cooper and Graeme Gowland. CF Motorsport's Glenn Irwin secured eighth place, half a second ahead of Tyco Suzuki's Taylor Mackenzie and Luke Stapleford.
