Silverstone BSB: Last-chance saloon for Showdown scrappers

This weekend’s Silverstone Bennetts British Superbike triple-header will see an incredible ten riders chasing the final four Title Fighter positions.

Jason O’Halloran had confirmed his Showdown status at Cadwell Park, before McAMS Yamaha teammate Tarran Mackenzie cemented his positon at Snetterton.

However, after the final race of the day in Norfolk, Tommy Bridewell and Christian Iddon were also confirmed as in with a chance of the championship crown, meaning that there are still half of the Title Fighter positions still to be decided at Silverstone.

Peter Hickman missed out on being secure by just a single point, but with 75 points still available next weekend at Silverstone, ten riders can still mathematically make the final cut ahead of the final three-round Showdown, which kicks off at Oulton Park later this month.

Hickman, Danny Buchan, Glenn Irwin and Lee Jackson head into the final round of the Main Season holding the positions currently, but after an eventful round in Norfolk, it could still all change by the time the chequered flag falls on race three next Sunday.

Reigning champion Josh Brookes has a mathematical chance of making it in as he trails Jackson by 13 points but he will also have to contend with Bradley Ray and Rory Skinner.
