Quay Garage Honda rider Gary Mason has been disqualified from both of today's British Superbike races at Silverstone for using an illegal camshaft.
A statement from the MCRCB's technical department reads:
Following the second Bennetts British Superbike Championship race the Chief Technical Officer reported that number 101, Gary Mason, Quay Garage Honda failed post race technical control.  
 
The following technical regulation was breached:
 
Article 5.2.3.6.19 Camshaft
 
Accordingly the following penalties have been imposed:
 
Exclusion from both Superbike race results.
 
The team may compete at the next round of the Championship on condition that the motorcycle will be stripped after the second race at that event in order to confirm full compliance with the regulations.
