SILVERSTONE BSB: SMART CRASHES OUT OF FIFTH

Hawk Kawasaki's Scott Smart crashed out of his best placing in the 2008 British Superbike series at Silverstone yesterday and is bemused as to why it happened.
Smart was lying in fifth place lap 17 but lost the front going into Priory and doesn't know why. He said: "I didn't do anything and differently, maybe turned a little bit tighter and the front just tucked," said Smart.
"The guys behind were weren't getting any closer and would have to lapped over half a second quicker to catch me by the end of the race. It's all a bit confusing. I was happy with my pace, wasn't pushing hard and I just found myself in the gravel."
