Hydrex Honda's Stuart Easton ran a brand new engine spec in his Fireblade at the Snetterton British Superbike round last weekend in order to give him more corner exit speed.
The Scotsman, who finished second and fourth in the double-header, wanted some more grunt to get his bike out of the turns in order to cut the advantage of the cross-plane crank Yamahas.
"We gave Stuart a new cam profile in the new spec so the bike would pick up a lot easier out of corners and get him fired down the straights a lot better," said crew chief Mick Shanley.
"It's a different spec to Karl as he likes to have a lot of power at the top end as he rides his bike a lot differently to Stuart and doesn't mind wrestling it about a bit."
