Snetterton BSB: Front row a 'confidence boost' for Linfoot

Honda Racing’s Dan Linfoot is feeling more confident after he made his way on to the front row of the MCE British Superbike grid, after bagging the P3 spot during qualifying at Snetterton.

Linfoot has been out of action for a few months after he broke his wrist during free practice in the second round at Brands Hatch and only made his return to the paddock during the official test at Snetterton a few weeks ago.

The Northerner managed nine continuous laps and is not in pain, and is looking forward to being back in race action tomorrow.

“I managed to get the bike back to the pits and then went back into Q2 and then ended in Q3 and I went out to assess the track and then I put a lap together and there you go,” said Linfoot, speaking to bikesportnews.com from the track.

“I know this isn’t the pace of the weekend but I needed a confidence boost and hopefully now this can be a good way – starting at the front and go with the boys and be where I should be.

“I don’t think about the injury and when I am on the bike I don’t think about it at all. I missed a couple of rounds and I have been trying too hard so I took a backwards step to relax a bit, but I am happy with today.

“The most I have done are eight and nine run laps and my wrist was fine and I was focusing on the track. It is a hard breaking track so it’s not ideal, but I didn’t feel anything out there today.”
