Buildbase Kawasaki’s John Laverty feels that his team are still slightly on the back foot with regards to the Visk British Superbike Championship.
The 2008 British Superbike Cup champion returns to the main championship is this year adapting to a four stroke after riding a Ducati last season. Laverty said: “I am happy with Kawasaki, but as a team we haven’t had much testing.”
“Also we have a spare bike between us we need two bikes each to test things. The bike is good, it has the top speed, the chassis works, the engine is strong but we need to go faster and to do that you need more track time. We will get it.”
In the three practice sessions prior to qualifying Laverty has knocked just under one and half seconds off his time in dry conditions, putting him just outside the top ten in 12th position. He returns back on track this afternoon for the Swan Combi 50 Roll for Pole qualifying in weather conditions that are now uncertain following a downpour that occurred late morning, early afternoon.
