Inmoto Corse’s Pauli Pekkanen takes his first win of the season in race two of the Focused Events KTM RC8 Super Sup at Snetterton this weekend in addition to setting a new lap record.
It was race one winner Sam Bishop of Kester Cunningham John/Sam Bishop Racing who took the lead into the first corner followed by David Wood of KTM UK ahead of Pekkanen.
After a couple of laps it was the leading group of three that pulled away leaving the others to battle behind. As the leaders battle at the front in the slippy conditions they were caught towards the end of the race.
Bishop held the lead for the majority of the race, not giving an inch to his side by side challengers, but on lap 11 he lost places and went down to fourth, which he kept to the finish line.
Pekkanen pushed extra hard to take the lead with a couple of laps to go leaving Wood not able to improve on his second place that he took from the chequered flag.
Kelvin Reilly of Inmoto Corse who broke his ankle last week in testing has been slightly down the order this weekend and started lap one in eighth position. Reilly gradually clawed away at the riders ahead to eventually finish third taking the final podium step of the race helping to keep his championship lead.
There were six riders that either retired or crashed in the race, Adam Foster crashed at Russells Bend but was able to rejoin the race and battle back to 12th taking the third podium position in the cup championship. Bishop again took the first place followed by Railton in second.
