British Superbike rookie Carl Phillips has revealed he has parted company with the Gearlink Kawasaki team.
The Northern Irishman announced he had left Michael de Bidaph’s squad via his Facebook page, just hours after qualifying in last position for today’s opening race.
Phillips, whose best finish in his debut season has been a 10th place in the wet at Brands Hatch Indy, stated:
“Unfortunately it is with regret I have to announce that with immediate effect myself and Gearlink Kawasaki have come to a mutual decision to part company.
“This has not been an easy decision and I would like to thank Michael and all at Gearlink Kawasaki team for their support and effort during this great opportunity.
“Thank you to all my sponsors for sticking by me. Hopefully I can get back on the grid sometime soon.”
Phillips’ departure came just hours after the news broke that Tommy Bridewell had lost his ride at Halsall Racing.
