JG Speedfit Kawasaki's James Ellison missed out on a spot in the MCE British Superbike Superpole session by the smallest of margins, 0.1 seconds to be exact, and finds himself on the fourth row for the race tomorrow at Snetterton.
The ex MotoGP rider is naturally disappointed and the changeable weather conditions have not helped the ZX-10R racer. Ellison did experience some issues with his bike on Friday and they were not really resolved until yesterday evening.
The final free practice session was wet, meaning that Ellison was not able to put down some fast laps to try out the improvements, that were made the night before to his Kawasaki.
Ellison is not feeling too down hearted and has already got some things that he wants to try in the morning that his crew have been working hard on overnight, with the aim of finishing up the pack on Sunday.
“Conditions have been really hit and miss this weekend, which has made things difficult. We also had some issues yesterday that weren’t resolved until last night so we’re effectively a day behind, and the wet weather this morning really didn’t help either," said Ellison, at the track.
"Starting from tenth isn’t ideal, but we’ve got some things to try overnight ready for warm up tomorrow to try and solve some issues so we’re ready to climb up the field tomorrow."
