Samsung Honda's Alex Lowes has topped the first session timesheet at today's MCE British Superbike test with championship leader Shane Byrne hot on his heels.
The pair are a country mile ahead of the pack with Lowes on a 1'50.210 and Byrne just a tenth behind but still some way off Josh Brookes' 2012 pole time of 1'48.490.
Jakub Smrz on the Padgett's Honda is third but 1.6s slower, lapping at 1'51.869, with Milwaukee Yamaha's James Ellison a further tenth in arrears.
Ryuichi Kiyonari is in fifth place on a 1'52.038 with Chris Walker and James Westmoreland next up. Dan Linfoot is in eighth with Keith Farmer and Peter Hickman rounding out the top ten.
