STP MOTORSPORT TO RUN TWO-PRONGED SUPERBIKE CUP ATTACK

STP Motorsport have today confirmed they will run a two-bike attack on the British Superbike Cup this season but do not know, as yet, whether their 2008 rider Chris Burns will re-sign for next year. It looks likely, however, that Victor Cox will take one seat.

The team has entered into a partnership with Bristol-based JHS Racing, which will be managing the development and preparation of the MV Agusta F4 1000 for 2009.

“The race bikes have already been subjected to detailed inspection by JHS and they have identified a number of areas that will improve performance and reliability,” says STP Team Principal Jon Strike. “The target now is to get everything in place in order that we can start testing as soon as possible."

The partnership with James Holland and his team at JHS Racing has given a double boost to the team: “Having a partner on board like JHS will free up cash that would have been spent on engine development and testing,” added Strike.

“Hopefully, this will be of benefit in our ongoing search for a title partner for the team next season as the financial demands are reduced. Even in the current economic climate, I am convinced that the benefits of being involved with a brand as famous as MV Agusta and the marketing opportunities it presents, make sound economic sense.”
