Banks Racing/Express Racewear’s Brian Clark stood on the podium at Thruxton this weekend, taking the win in the Relentless 125GP Championship.
Clark returns to the BSB paddock after two years, his season was not off to the best of starts after a crash at the first round at Brands Hatch in which he sustained a broken arm, also putting him out of the second round at Oulton Park.
The Wimblebury rider literally fought back at Donington Park last weekend taking third place and his first podium this season before standing up their again this weekend, this time as the race winner.
“The season’s not been as it should, I think at Donington the weather played into my hands and I was disappointed with not winning, but at least I bought it home in one piece. At Thruxton it isn’t very good with this fuel we have to use, but we’ve changed the gearing and bits ‘n’ bobs. The plan is to be at the front as you need to get away otherwise here you are stuffed,” Clark told www.bikesportnews.com prior to the race.
Clark has immediately added to the always entertaining 125cc category with him constantly battling at the front with championship leader Martin Glossop, main challengers such as Tim Hastings James Lodge.
One race to be remember is Donington, due to a red flag and a restart Clark had two bad starts in the race which even put him down in 26th at one point. Through out the testing conditions, all spectators saw him storm up through the grid to take third.
Clark goes to Snetterton in three weeks aiming for yet another trophy and race win.
