Hydrex Honda's Karl Harris has taken the top spot in this morning British Superbike first free practice at Thruxton with one of his first laps out on the circuit.
Harris set a 1'16.425 lap with only ten minutes of the session gone and itrtook the Airwaves Yamaha pair of Leon Camier and James Ellison more than half an hour to get anywhere near it.
But then, on his last lap, Harris upped the game again, lapping in 1'15.936 which is more than half a second quicker than the Kent youngster could manage, with Ellison another tenth in arrears.
Harris' team-mate Stuart Easton rounds out a theoretical front row,three-quarters of a second behind the lead Honda, with Glen Richards heading up the second row, just ahead of a resurgent Michael Rutter who is standing in for the injured Sylvain Guintoli.
Buildbase Kawasaki's John Laverty leapt up the timesheet right at the death to take seventh place, just ahead of fellow Irishman Ian Lowry who is eighth with Superbike Cup man Gary Mason and Josh Brookes rounding out the top ten.
