JG Speedfit Kawasaki’s Leon Haslam is aiming to take his first-ever British Superbike win at Thruxton this weekend as he bounces back from a difficult weekend last time out.
The Derbyshire rider didn’t manage a podium at Snetterton due to setup and tyre wear problems, and says that maximising tyre life at the high-speed circuit is a priority.
“Thruxton is another circuit where I’ve never won at and I’m looking forward to heading back this weekend to see if we can change that. It was a tough round at Snetterton, so our aim is to immediately bounce back and get on the podium. It won’t be an easy task, tyre life is crucial at Thruxton and it’s always really close racing so I think we’re in for two great races,” said Haslam.
“Because of the nature of the track, we’ll be using every session to dial in the bike and get a good understanding of tyre life. We’re yet to get a fully dry weekend this year so now the summer months are here hopefully this weekend will see that change and we’ll be able to work through everything we need to so we’re in the best possible position on Sunday.”
