MAP Raceways Yamaha's Billy McConnell reckons he was happy to be in a big scrap for the win in the British Supersport thriller at Thruxton last weekend, and even happer to be back at the top of the table.
McConnell battled it out with NW200 Yamaha's Dan Linfoot and a late-charging Steve Plater, who was on a plane to the Isle of Man later that day, but eventually did enough to cross the line.
"That was a good race. It is always good to have a battle and then win it. My MAP Raceways Yamaha was really strong and I’m thrilled to have the Championship lead back," said the Aussie.
"It was tough but I knew it would be. Dan Linfoot had very different corner speed to me due to his engine braking so it was good to get a break on him on the last lap. I can’t wait now to get to Snetterton for the next round.”
