THRUXTON BSB: WOOD WINS AGAIN

KTM UK’s David Wood added another 25 points towards redeeming his Focused events KTM RC8 Super Cup Championship chase at Thruxton this weekend.
The Aylesbury rider took the lead on lap one and never looked back as he pulled away from his main challengers.  Pauli Pekkanen of Pauli Pekkanen Racing, along with Wood slightly gapped the pack behind which included Francis Williamson of SJ Racing/Bracken Motorcycles who moved up to third on the second lap.
Following the leaders was another cluster of riders including Redline KTM Ed Smith, KTM UK/Superbike Magazine Alastair Fagan, Kelvin Reilly of Inmoto Corse and the injured James Edmeades of Redline Motorcycles/VCG.
Railton put pressure on Smith early on in the race to take eighth place but Smith regained the position on lap five keeping it until they crossed the line.  Alastair Fagan worked his way up the order to finish and kept his fourth place even with making an error causing him to run straight on at the chicane.
It was lap eight when the real fun began, it was battle galore between Reilly and Edmeades.  Even with broken fingers Edmeades was there to battle and he wanted that fifth place.  After continuing to put pressure on him Edmeades moved ahead as they headed up to Church corner.
Reilly not backing off immediately fought back, so close they looked like they were leaning on one another before Reilly moved back ahead.  They swapped places twice more, but it was Reilly who reigned when they crossed the finish line.
