TAG Racing will expand to a brand-new two rider effort for this weekend’s British Superbike Championship [BSB] finale at Brands Hatch with Tom Booth-Amos making his debut alongside the returning Shaun Winfield.
Having entered a single Honda CBR1000RR-R for former MotoGP rider Hector Barbera up to this point, the decision to part ways with the Spaniard ahead of the final round instead sees a fresh doubled up effort take their spots on the grid.
For former Moto3 rider Booth-Amos it represent his debut in the Superbike class and comes after strong showings in both the British and World Supersport series’ this season.
“I’m really looking forward to my first Superbike experience with TAG Honda Racing this weekend. It’s all new to me, and I won’t have had an opportunity to spend time testing the bike with the team, but I’m hopeful we can shake things up a bit and see how we go. I just want to say a big thank you to Gary, Rob and Tracy for having me for the weekend.”
While Booth-Amos will make use of TAG Racing’s full specification Fireblade, Winfield - who will return to the BSB grid - will ride a Honda adapted from the Superstock specification he has been riding this season using the series’ new Pathway regulations.
“After seeing the Pathway specification Honda Fireblade at Oulton Park and speaking to some of the riders, I was interested straight away.
“The Superstock class is unbelievably competitive and I’ve had some great battles, but with that I am looking forward to taking the leap back onto the Superbike stage. I am confident in the Pathway bike that TAG Honda have built and I can’t wait to get going at Brands Hatch.”
