Tsingtao MV Agusta bosses face a race against time to be ready for the MCE British Superbike season opener at Donington Park over Easter as they will only pick up their new works F4RC bikes from Italy on Sunday.
Dave Tyson and legendary tuner Nick Morgan are driving to Varese, loading the bikes into a Sprinter and then coming straight back with the delay down to Leon Camier’s continued development of the bike and parts.
“The RC is the WSBK homologation special and this is the best bike for the team to start with as it has 212bhp and weight is reduced to 175kg. The Reparto corse team has further developed the bike so we should receive a competitive package,” said Tyson, speaking to bikesportnews.com.
“We will get to Varese, turn round and drive straight back, then we have a race against time to get the bikes built to our something near our specification in time for the Donington test next Thursday.
“The we will have another fortnight to get the Motec electronics working properly, install all the engine parts and Nick can start his dyno work. It’s going to be close and we will obviously be improving the bike greatly over the first couple of rounds.”
