Jack Valentine has sensationally stepped down as the manager of Halsall Racing's MCE British Superbike effort after only a couple of weeks in the job.
The legendary tuner and team manager said he wanted to have more input into the operation and be more than a just a front-man at race weekends but couldn't come to an agreement with owner Martin Haslall.
"I was really enjoying being back in BSB and in only two meetings it was great to see the team’s rider, Lee Costello, make a massive step forward in performance and start to show his true potential," said Valentine.
"It's really frustrating for me to have to make the decision to step down from my role with the team, but I know what it takes to build a professional and title-contending team and I don’t feel I can use my experience to do this in the right way at this time."
