Fan favourite Chris Walker is back in British Superbikes after being re-hired by the Primo Bournemouth Kawasaki squad.
The three-time BSB runner-up had parted company with the team under its tenure with manager Dan Cheevers but he is now on remand for drugs offences so the the squad has re-structured with Walker as lead rider. James Hillier remains in the team. Joe Burns, who was drafted in when Walker was sacked, is now going to run his own Superstock team and BKR's Pete Extance has pledged to support him.
"I am absolutely thrilled to bits to be able to be racing in BSB again this season. I couldn't believe it when the opportunity came up out of the blue. I really wanted to continue in BSB and this is the chance to do that, now we can finalise staff and machinery but it's all looking great and I can't wait," said the housewives' favourite.
"I have had some great support from the fans over the past few weeks and now to finally be able to confirm where I am racing is big relief if I am honest. As I have said before I have a long association with Kawasaki and to be able to continue that into 2012 really is great news for me."
The team is hosting an official Launch Party at the Sharnbrook Hotel near Bedford on Saturday, March 10 from noon until 3pm.
