Westmoreland using Pro-Test in Spain to develop electronics

JG Speedfit Kawasaki’s James Westmoreland has been using the Pro-Test at Cartagena to try out multiple things on his ZX-10 and is focusing on a new electronic package in particular. Westmoreland has been sat on a BMW for the past few of years in the MCE British Superbike Championship and has jumped ship to the Kawasaki, alongside new team-mate James Ellison.

His team have changed the bike quite a bit from last year, and for Westmoreland it is a new experience for him. He is enjoying his time in Spain, and feels that he is making progress on the Kawasaki, and is adamant that the changes his crew have made to the throttle connection, clutch and chassis are paying off.

“Everything is going well and we are making process. We have changed quite a bit on the bike and we are getting the gremlins out, but the good thing is I am doing similar things to what James Ellison is doing. But everything is quite good and we have got a great electronics person and  crew chief,” said Westmoreland, speaking to bikesportnews.com.

I like everything and I am happy with the chassis and the main difference is we are working with electronics which is something I have not done before and everything is at a high standard. I think we have been caught out a bit as we have a new engine spec and we are trying to work with that.

We are also working on the throttle connection, clutch and chassis and we are trying to tackle the small things, but everything is looking promising. Fingers crossed we can finish today with lots of better things on the motorbike and try and get some feedback for tonight, but I want to try some new things in the remaining sessions.”
