Deniz Oncu continued to hold sway at the head of the timesheets as Practice for the Italian Moto3 came to an eventful close at Mugello, while Scott Ogden squeezed into Q2 despite an off on his best lap.

Still eyeing his first win in Moto3, Red Bull KTM Ajo rider Oncu was once again in superb form around the fast, flowing Italian circuit as he improved his benchmark - already 0.5s faster than the opposition - from 1m 56.485 to 1m 56.175m.

Diogo Moreira was the only rider to get fairly close to Oncu, climbing to second from the fringes of the top twenty on the MT Helmets - MSI KTM, while Daniel Holgado was another to rise from outside the automatic 14 Q2 spots, right up to third.

Oncu notwithstanding, with times close behind him in the classification, a frantic end to the session would see the order change repeatedly.

This initially spelled bad news for Scott Ogden, who - having ended Friday inside the top five - was dumped out of the top 14 late one when he ran wide on his time attack lap. However, he was given a reprieve after the flag was flown when Joel Kelso had his lap time cancelled, dropping him from second to 20th.
