Manuel Gonzalez continued his form from FP1 in Hungary into Practice, topping the second session of the day by over 0.2 seconds from David Alonso. Filip Salac completed the top-three and over 0.3 seconds behind Gonzalez.

Manuel Gonzalez topped Moto2 FP1 in Hungary by over 0.1 seconds ahead of David Alonso, who himself was almost 0.1 seconds ahead of Celestino Vietti in third.
Filip Salac and Alonso Lopez completed the top-five and Dani Holgado the top-six. Collin Veijer, Zonta van den Goorbergh, Alex Escrig, and Izan Guevara rounded out the top-10.
The session was red flagged with around three minutes to go because of a mechanical problem for Senna Agius, but it was quickly restarted. Agius ended up 11th in the session.
Angel Piqueras makes his return to racing having been out since the US race in March. He finished 27th.
Jacob Roulstone is also making his return to the world championship this weekend, replacing Mario Aji at Honda Team Asia.
