Alvaro Carpe topped the Moto3 FP2 session at Mugello, lapping 0.004 seconds faster than Ruche Moodley in second, a result that marks the best result for the second-year South African rider in the world championship.
Rico Salmela put in a late 1:55.220 to go third-fastest, beating David Munoz. Max Quiles completed the top-five, ahead of Jesus Rios, Scott Ogden, Guido Pini, Brian Uriarte, and Marco Morelli in the top-10.
