Aprilia Racing and Jorge Martin have had a nightmare start to 2025 after two heavy crashes after 13 laps.
The 2024 MotoGP World Champion has suffered a terrible start to the 2025 MotoGP season. Jorge Martin suffered two highsides in his first 13 laps of the new season.
After his first track, Martin was able to ride back to the pits using a service road. However, after his second crash, everything was different for the new #1.
Martin was shot into the air on the entry into turn two and then had a heavy impact with his feet, before slamming his face into the asphalt.
The session was then red flagged and Martin was taken to the medical centre, before being transferred to a hospital for further checks.
Aprilia stated: "Jorge Martin after a crash in Turn 2, has been taken to the circuit medical centre. He will undergo further medical checks, as soon as we will have an official medical update, we will inform you."
A later update read: "Jorge will be taken to Aurelius Hospital in Nilai (6km to the circuit) to undergo medical checks. So far he is suffering pain at his left foot and right hand."
Since this statement, it has been confirmed that Martin has suffered a right-hand fracture and fractures in his left foot. The reigning World Champion also underwent CT and MRI scans, which were negative for any injuries.
Martin will remain in hospital overnight and will fly back to Europe to undergo surgery on his hand and foot.
