After missing the start of the 2025 season, Jorge Martin's MotoGP return could be sooner rather than later.
Jorge Martin has hinted at when he may return from injury and make his Aprilia debut.
The 2025 season has been rotten for Martin after he sustained injuries on Day One at the Sepang Test, and then further injuries when preparing to return to action at the season opener.
The 2024 MotoGP World Champion was only able to complete 13 laps with his new #1 on the front of his RS-GP.
So far he has missed the Thai Grand Prix and the Argentine Grand Prix, it has also already been confirmed that he will miss next weekend's American Grand Prix. However, there are signs of hope that he could be back sooner rather than later.
Martin described his recovery to Gazzetta: "Good, slower than I would like.
"But these are the times, and it would be wrong to speed them up, it would risk making everything even longer.
"I will definitely skip Austin. I am considering being in Qatar but only if it will not involve risks."
Jorge Martin is 'considering' a MotoGP return in Qatar:
The Qatar Grand Prix will take place between the 11th and 13th of April and is the fourth round of the 2025 season.
If the reigning MotoGP World Champion decides to sit out of the Qatar Grand Prix his next option will be the Spanish Grand Prix.
Martin has been advised to rest the break to his scaphoid bone, which can sometimes threaten the career of a motorcycle racer.
During his time out Martin has had to witness Marc Marquez win all four races at the start of the 2025 season. His fellow Spaniard has already established a 16 point lead in the standings over Alex Marquez.
Martin said about watching the first two rounds on TV while injured: "I struggled, a couple of times I had to turn it off.
"Not out of anger, out of sadness. The sadness of not being there.
"And then I always turned it back on because I know, life is like that."
