Martin has been sidelined due to an injury that he suffered whilst training ahead of the season opener.

Ahead of the Thai Grand Prix Aprilia CEO, Massimo Rivola, was asked when we will next see Martin:

"For sure it will not be in Argentina," Rivola told MotoGP.com.

"Then we will see, we want to have him in very good shape. I do not want to rush any recovery, and put him on a bike when he is not fit."

Rivola was also quizzed on what happened during Martin's crash and stated that he is 'worse than expected'.

"It was a double check to make sure that everything was fine," Rivola explained.

"When moving his right arm and the feeling in his left foot was ok. But during the check he crashed heavily and it is worse than expected. Now we need to deal with what we have and not what we don't have."

When he was asked why Martin was training at all, Rivola stated: "In three days he would have ridden a MotoGP bike, so he was using an easy to bike to get the feeling in his body. But shit happens."
