Jorge Navarro will return to Moto2 in 2025

Gold & Goose

After two years in World Supersport, Jorge Navarro will return to Moto2 in 2025.

Jorge Navarro's racing plans for the 2025 season appeared to be locked in. However, a late announcement has thrown a spanner in the works.

The Spaniard was announced by the Verdnatura Orelac Racing Team for the 2025 World Supersport campaign. However, Navarro will now return to the Moto2 World Championship next year with the Forward Racing squad.

Navarro raced in Moto2 full-time from 2017 to 2022 but returned as a replacement rider in 2024. The Spaniard had been racing in World Supersport with Yamaha and Ducati across the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

Originally the Forward Racing Team had announced Alex Escrig and Xavier Artigas as their rider lineup for the 2025 Moto2 World Championship. But Artigas has since left the team and will reportedly ride in the FIM Moto2 European Championship next year.

Navarro said: "I am very happy with this opportunity: I accepted the challenge because I believe in this project and I am convinced that with my experience and speed we will take our bikes to the positions that count.

“I can't wait to start the work and the season. I want to thank Forward and our Title Sponsor Klint for the trust they have placed in me: I will give my best."

In a joint statement, new Sports Director Simone Corsi and team CEO Martina Cuzari said:

"After a 2024 of reciprocal ‘testing’, we are thrilled to welcome Jorge full-time to our family after his participation in some races last season.

"His experience and speed will be important for the development of our project. We are confident that together we can grow and achieve important goals."
