Rumours suggest that Pedro Acosta could be in talks with Ducati, the Italian manufacturer's test rider has now weighed on the discussion.
The Ducati Test Rider, Michele Pirro, has given his opinion on MotoGP rookie sensation, Pedro Acosta. The Italian rider has weighed on the recent rumours that Acosta could be trying to sign with Ducati for 2026.
In a recent interview with Speedweek.com, Pirro was asked what he thinks of Acosta after his rookie season in 2024.
"I would like to see him at Ducati," Pirro stated. When someone wins two world championships in three years and does what he has done, it is normal that he continues to win."
Pirro has become instrumental in the development of Ducati's MotoGP and World Superbike projects. In recent years Ducati have won five world titles across MotoGP and World Superbikes since 2022.
The 38-year-old went on to discuss Ducati's recent success and how he believes the Italian manufacturer has reached the levels of success that they have in recent years.
"The key to success is the method we have used in the past and how we got here," Pirro explained. "People say that our advantage is having eight bikes. But having eight bikes also means that the teams believed in Ducati when we had four bikes. It's about Ducati giving the teams the opportunity to have them.
"What happened is that we worked better at the time. In other words, the Ducati package is better than the others. I think it's the same in World Superbike. It means that a certain strategy, a certain job was done well."
