Daniel Holgado returned to the top step of the podium for his second Moto2 Grand Prix win of his rookie campaign.
At the Japanese Grand Prix, Daniel Holgado established himself as the clear front-runner for Moto2 rookie of the year as the Spaniard claimed his second Grand Prix victory of the season.
British rider Jake Dixon missed out on the points last time out at the San Marino Grand Prix. However, his fortunes were different at the Japanese Grand Prix as he returned to the podium with a second place.
After two races off the podium, Diogo Moreira was back on the rostrum with a third-place finish at the Twin Ring Motegi. This was the Brazilian rider's sixth podium finish of the season for the Italtrans squad.
Moto2 rookie, David Alonso, was back inside the top five for the first time since his race win at the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Colombian rider was able to secure a fourth-place finish at the Japanese Grand Prix.
The Moto2 World Championship leader, Manuel Gonzalez, had a dramatic race as he had a terrible start and had to take a long lap penalty, but still finished inside the top five in fifth place.
Tony Arbolino had been in the podium fight, but the Italian dropped back in the order to sixth during the race, likely due to fatigue issues from a recent arm pump operation.
Despite returning to the podium in the San Marino Grand Prix, Barry Baltus was off the rostrum again at Motegi as he finished in seventh place.
Moto2 rookie, Ivan Ortola, had a strong weekend and claimed his fifth top ten finish of the season with an eighth place in the Japanese Grand Prix.
Albert Arenas' difficult 2025 Moto2 campaign continued as he finished in ninth place, which was his first top ten finish since the Austrian Grand Prix.
Completing the top ten was the Moto2 rookie, Collin Veijer, who featured inside the top ten for the fifth time this season.
