After some difficult recent rounds, Albert Arenas found some form on Friday at the Malaysian Grand Prix as he ended up in third place for the ITALJET Gresini Moto2 squad.

Barry Baltus has not featured on the podium since the San Marino Grand Prix; the Belgian rider will be on the hunt for a podium this weekend after ending Friday in fourth place.

The CFMOTO RCB Aspar Team rookies ended the opening day in fifth and sixth, with Daniel Holgado rounding out the top five, and David Alonso narrowly missing out on a place in the top five.

Aron Canet's inconsistent form has plagued him in 2025, and he will need to finish his weekend in a good way after ending Friday in seventh place.

The KLINT Forward Factory Team rider, Alex Escrig, was a surprise entry into the top top in the afternoon Practice session as he ended up in eighth place.

After not scoring points across the last two Grand Prix weekends, Tony Arbolino started his Malaysian Grand Prix in ninth place.

Completing the top ten in Practice at the Malaysian Grand Prix was the Moto2 Championship contender, Diogo Moreira, but he was 0.445 seconds behind Gonzalez.
