Diogo Moreira now holds a 24-point advantage over Manuel Gonzalez after he won the Moto2 Race at Portimao.
At the Portuguese Grand Prix, Diogo Moreira took a step towards winning the 2025 Moto2 World Championship as he claimed victory at Portimao from pole position.
Moto2 rookie Collin Veijer claimed his first podium in the middleweight class as he finished in second place for the Red Bull KTM Ajo squad in the Portuguese Grand Prix.
Fellow Moto2 rookie David Alonso joined Veijer and Moreira on the podium as the CFMOTO Aspar Team rider finished in third and secured his fifth podium of the season.
The Fantic Racing Lino Sonego duo ended the race inside the top five, with Aron Canet in fourth place and Barry Baltus in fifth place. However, both riders are now out of Championship contention.
Manuel Gonzalez lost further ground to his title rival Moreira at the Portuguese Grand Prix. The Spaniard is now 24 points behind the Brazilian rider heading into the season finale.
Daniel Holgado has been off form this weekend as he ended the race outside of the top five and crossed the line in seventh place for the CFMOTO Aspar Team.
In his penultimate race in the Moto2 World Championship, Albert Arenas ended the Portuguese inside the top ten as he finished in eighth place for the ITALJET Gresini Moto2 squad.
Senna Agius was back inside the top ten after failing to score points in the Malaysian Grand Prix and secured a ninth-place finish for the Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP.
Completing the top ten in the Portuguese Grand Prix was the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 rider, Izan Guevara.
British rider Jake Dixon failed to finish his penultimate race in the Moto2 World Championship as he crashed out of the top ten on the last lap.
