Celestino Vietti ended the day on top of the Moto2 timesheets after a promising Friday afternoon Practice session.

The opening day of the San Marino Grand Prix was promising for Celestino Vietti, as the Beta Tools SpeedRS Team rider finished fourth in Free Practice One and topped the afternoon Practice session.

Moto2 World Championship leader, Manuel Gonzalez, topped the timesheets in Free Practice One and was in second place in the Friday afternoon Practice session.

Daniel Holgado missed out on the top five in Free Practice One, but the Catalan Grand Prix winner ended the opening day of Practice in third place on the CFMOTO Gaviota Team machine.

It was a solid opening day for British rider, Jake Dixon, the ELF Marc VDS Racing Team rider ended the day in fourth place on the Boscoscuro machine.

Rounding out the top five was the Italtrans Racing Team rider, Diogo Moreira, who slipped back from third place to fifth in between the two Practice sessions on Friday.

After missing out on the top ten in Free Practice One, Albert Arenas secured a Q2 spot on Friday afternoon after ending Practice in sixth place for the ITALJET Gresini Moto2 squad.

Zonta van den Goorbergh moved up ten spots in Practice compared to his Free Practice One position as he ended the day in seventh place for the RW - Idrofoglia Racing squad.

Izan Guevara had a solid first day for the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 squad as he ended the day in eighth place on the Boscoscuro.

Australian rider, Senna Agius, featured inside the top ten for the Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP squad as he finished in ninth place.

Completing the top ten was the Fantic Racing Lino Sonego rider, Barry Baltus, who dropped back from his eighth-place finish in Free Practice One.
