David Alonso is back on top at Misano as he tops the opening Free Practice session.
Last week it was Jose Antonio Rueda who left Aragon victorious for the first time in Moto3. But with the Moto3 riders heading to Misano for the first time in 2024, David Alonso was looking for revenge.
Alonso started his weekend off on the right foot as the Colombian rider took the top spot. In the opening Free Practice session Alonso may have had a crash but he still set consistent lap times throughout.
In second place was the winner from last week, Rueda. Everything may have finally clicked for the Spaniard after his win in Aragon. It is too late to launch a title charge against Alonso, but he could stamp his authority on the class for 2025.
Ivan Ortola went missing in Aragon as he finished in 12th place. However, the Spaniard is back at the sharp end in Misano as he ended Free Practice in third.
Daniel Holgado also showed his inconsistencies in Aragon as he finished down in ninth. But like Ortola he ended Free Practice at the front as he ended the morning session in fourth.
The ever-aggressive David Munoz was up to his usual antics in the morning session at Misano. The Spaniard looks fast as well as aggressive as he finished in fifth.
Ryusei Yamanaka was another rider who had a horrible time in Aragon as he had a 19th-place finish. But a track like Misano suits the Japanese rider more as he finished Free Practice in sixth.
The Leopard Racing riders ended Free Practice in seventh and eighth places. Angel Piqueras finished in seventh, with Adrian Fernandez in eighth.
Collin Veijer lost out on a win at Aragon as he finished in second place. But the Dutchman has had his usual start to a weekend at Misano as he finished in ninth place.
Rounding out the top ten was British rider Scott Ogden. With rumours that he may not be with the MLav Racing Team in 2025, Ogden could do with some strong results at Misano.
