Red Bull KTM Ajo walked away from Jerez at the top of the Moto3 timesheets at the end of Friday's Practice sessions.
Jose Antonio Rueda ended Free Practice One at the top of the timesheets, which he then backed up on Friday afternoon. The Spaniard topped Practice and was 1.042 seconds quicker than the rest of the field over one lap.
Red Bull KTM Ajo had a great start to their afternoon after a near-perfect morning across Moto2 and Moto3. Alvaro Carpe ended the session in second place for the Finnish team, but was over a second behind his teammate.
The top Honda rider in the afternoon session was Taiyo Furusato on the Honda Team Asia machine. The Japanese rider ended the day in third place after a difficult morning.
Ryusei Yamanaka was just behind his fellow Japanese rider as he ended the day in fourth. The FRINSA - MT Helmets - MSi rider was 1.077 seconds behind Rueda at the end of the session.
Red Bull KTM Tech3 featured inside the top five as Jacob Roulstone ended the day in fifth place. The Australian rider had a good session after ending Free Practice One in 20th.
David Munoz had a difficult session as he suffered with bike issues during the afternoon. However, the Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP Team got him out in the latter moments and he ended up sixth.
The Qatar Grand Prix winner, Angel Piqueras, put both FRINSA - MT Helmets - MSi machines in the top ten as he ended up in seventh place.
Joel Kelso set a better lap time in the afternoon session, but was further down the order than he was in Free Practice One. The Australian started the day in fourth but ended up in eighth place.
Ruche Moodley and the BOE Motorsports squad have had an impressive opening day in Jerez. The South African rider was fifth in Free Practice One and ended the day in ninth place.
The second Honda rider in the top ten in the Moto3 Practice session was Adrian Fernandez in tenth place on the Leopard Racing machine.
