MotoGP Argentina, Practice Results: Marc Marquez is in control at the end of Day One

Gold & Goose

The Argentine Grand Prix has so far seen Marc Marquez top both Practice sessions.

Marc Marquez dominates day one in Argentina as he sets the pace in Free Practice One and Friday afternoon Practice. The Spaniard looks set to go on and do the double for the second time this season.

Fabio di Giannantonio bit the screen at the end of the session and set a lap time that put him in second. The Italian is slowly finding his feet after a difficult end to 2024 and start to 2025.

Alex Marquez is on the pace on the BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP machine. The Spaniard ended the day in third and was 0.2 seconds behind his older brother.

The top Aprilia rider was Marco Bezzecchi who ended the day in fourth place on his RS-GP. The Italian's race pace seems to suggest that he will be Marc Marquez's closest contender on Saturday and Sunday.

The top KTM rider was Brad Binder on the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing RC16. The South African rider has been successful in Argentina in the past but does not appear to be a clear contender.

Yamaha found their way into the top ten again as Alex Rins finished in sixth place on the Monster Energy Yamaha M1.

Johann Zarco put Honda into Q2 once again as he ended the day in seventh on his LCR Honda Castrol machine.

Fabio Quartararo was just behind his fellow Frenchman as he ended Practice in eighth place.

Pedro Acosta was the second KTM rider in the top ten as he ended Day One in ninth.

Francesco Bagnaia had a difficult day at Termas de Rio Hondo. The Italian was 16th in Free Practice One and just scraped into Q2 on Friday afternoon.
