Marc Marquez returns to winning ways as he beat Jorge Martin in a head-to-head duel at Phillip Island.
The MotoGP race at the iconic Phillip Island never disappoints as Marc Marquez and Jorge Martin went head to head in the latter stages of the 27-lap race.
Despite a terrible start to the race Marc Marquez made his way onto the top step of the rostrum again. The Spaniard spun on his tear-off at the beginning of the race, but in a great recovery ride the #93 secured his fourth win in Australia.
After dominating the Sprint Race on Saturday Jorge Martin had to settle for second place on Sunday. The Spaniard had another Australian Grand Prix victory ripped out of his hands in the latter laps once again.
Ten seconds behind Marquez on Sunday was Francesco Bagnaia. The reigning Champion had the pace at the start of the race but dropped away from the leaders as the race continued.
The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team rider, Fabio di Giannantonio, rode through his shoulder issues this weekend. The Italian secured a fourth-place finish on his Ducati GP23 to bring in some crucial Championship points.
Enea Bastianini did not match his Saturday performance in the main Grand Prix. The Italian rider could only manage to finish in fifth place on his Ducati.
Completing a Ducati top-six lockout was Franco Morbidelli on the Prima Pramac Racing machine. Morbidelli was riding inside the podium positions early on but dropped back throughout the race.
The top non-Ducati rider was the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider of Brad Binder. The South African rider finished in seventh place on his KTM RC16.
Aprilia could only manage an eighth-place finish at Phillip Island in the hands of Maverick Vinales. The Spaniard's pace was good enough for eighth throughout the race as he was midpack throughout the 27-lap race.
Monster Energy Yamaha rider, Fabio Quartararo, was back in the top ten this weekend. After some tough Grand Prix weekends of late for the Frenchman a ninth-place feels like a great result.
Completing the top ten was Raul Fernandez on the Trackhouse Racing Aprilia as he finished in tenth place.
