MotoGP Austria, Warm-Up: Marquez sets the pace just ahead of Pecco, Martin down in 21st

Gold and Goose

Marc Marquez sets the pace in the Morning Warm-Up ahead of the 28-lap Austrian Grand Prix.

It was Francesco Bagnaia who won the Saturday Sprint Race at the Red Bull Ring. However, before the 28-lap Austrian Grand Prix, the MotoGP riders have a 10-minute warm-up session. With heavy rain falling overnight the riders will have a brief period to get used to the new track conditions.

After his crash in the Sprint Race, Marc Marquez went out on fresh tyres today. The Spaniard went out and set the pace in the 10-minute session.

Just like Marquez, Francesco Bagnaia also had new tyres on his Ducati. The Italian looked unstoppable in the Sprint Race and the Grand Prix is his to lose.

Alex Marquez and Franco Morbidelli end a Ducati 1-2-3-4 in the warm-up session. The younger Marquez brother also crashed in the Sprint Race, whereas Morbidelli finished sixth on Saturday.

KTMs top rider in the Sprint Race was Jack Miller in fifth place. Again in the warm-up session, their top rider was Miller in fifth once again. Just behind Miller was his teammate Brad Binder.

Aprilia ended the Sunday Morning session in seventh and eighth places. Aleix Espargaro finished in seventh and Maverick Vinales in eighth.

Two more KTM riders completed the top ten with Pol Espargaro in ninth and Pedro Acosta in tenth.

Jorge Martin ended the session in 21st place. However, the Spaniard was riding on a 30-lap-old medium rear tyre, which is further than the Grand Prix distance.
