After the hour-long Friday afternoon Practice session Francesco Bagnaia took control of the timesheets in Barcelona.
Francesco Bagnaia ended Friday on top in Barcelona as he took control of the timesheets at the Solidarity Grand Prix. The Italian may have set the pace on day one but he still has a 24-point margin to close in to his title rival on Saturday and Sunday.
Marco Bezzecchi ended the day in second place as he found good pace at the Circuit de Barcelona - Catalunya. The Italian will most likely help his VR46 Academy colleague, Bagnaia, across the weekend in his title fight.
The top non-Ducati rider on Friday afternoon was Aleix Espargaro on the Aprilia. The Spaniard is in his final Grand Prix as a full-time rider and ended Friday in third place.
LCR Honda topped the Friday morning session and then managed to get a rider in the top five in the afternoon. Johann Zarco finished his day in fourth place on the LCR Honda Castrol.
The Championship leader, Jorge Martin ended his day in fifth place on the Prima Pramac Racing machine. Despite putting in a lot of work throughout the session the Spaniard did not look happy with his Ducati on his final time attack.
Outside of the top five was Maverick Vinales on the Aprilia RS-GP. The Spaniard will leave Aprilia after this weekend but has started the Solidarity Grand Prix in a good way as he ended the day in sixth.
The Marquez brothers locked out seventh and eighth places on their Gresini Racing Ducati GP23s. Alex Marquez finished seventh with Marc Marquez in eighth.
The top KTM rider on Friday afternoon in Barcelona was Pedro Acosta, who ended the day in ninth.
Completing the top ten was Enea Bastianini on the Ducati Lenovo machine. The Italian is in his final weekend with Ducati, who will want Bastianini to help Bagnaia as much as he can.
