Marc Marquez continued his winning ways in the MotoGP Sprint Races after his brother crashed from the lead in Catalunya.
It looked as if Marc Marquez would have to settle for second place on Saturday at the Catalan Grand Prix. However, his brother, Alex Marquez, crashed from the lead, and Marc inherited the lead and controlled his pace for the final few laps.
For the first time since the German Grand Prix, Fabio Quartararo returned to the podium as he claimed a second-place finish in the Sprint Race.
Fabio di Giannantonio secured his third Sprint Race podium of the season after finishing in third for the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team.
Three KTM riders were locked together in a battle behind the podium places. The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider, Pedro Acosta, finished in fourth, Tech3 rider, Enea Bastianini, was in fifth, and Factory KTM rider, Brad Binder, was in sixth.
Honda had two riders inside the points in the Sprint Race. Johann Zarco took the LCR Honda Castrol machine to a seventh-place finish, and Luca Marini took the Honda HRC Castrol machine to an eighth-place finish.
Taking the final point in the Saturday Sprint Race was the Trackhouse Racing Aprilia rider, Ai Ogura, who ended the day in ninth place.
