MotoGP Czech Republic, Practice Results | Marc Marquez ends Day One on top of the timesheets

Gold & Goose

Adverse weather conditions made for a difficult Friday afternoon Practice session, but Marc Marquez found his way to the top once again.

It was business as usual for Marc Marquez as he dominated the opening day of Practice at the Automotodrom Brno, as he topped Free Practice One and Practice on Friday.

Johann Zarco was Marquez's closest challenger as he ended the day in second, but was 0.469 seconds behind the factory Ducati rider.

Fabio Quartararo and Monster Energy Yamaha gained direct access to Q2 as they ended up in third place on the timesheets.

Both Aprilia Racing riders ended the day inside the top five. Marco Bezzecchi was in fourth place, and the reigning MotoGP World Champion, Jorge Martin, was in fifth on his first day back in the paddock.

Jack Miller and difficult weather conditions tend to go hand in hand, and the Australian used them to his advantage on Friday as he ended up in sixth place.

Joan Mir was the second Honda rider to gain direct access to Q2 on Friday afternoon as he ended up in seventh place on the Honda HRC Castrol machine.

On his return to MotoGP after missing the German Grand Prix, Enea Bastianini was the top KTM rider in eighth place.

Despite a late crash, Alex Marquez was able to get out on his second bike and set a lap time that put him in ninth place.

Completing the top ten was Pedro Acosta on the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing machine.
